FARNDON COMMUNITY CENTRE
Farndon Community Centre is located on the edge of Farndon Village, some 8 miles south of Chester and 7 miles from Wrexham. Previously known as Farndon Community Club, the Centre is owned by Farndon Parish Council but is managed by a volunteer led Community Trust which is a registered charity.
The Centre is open to all local residents of Farndon and surrounding villages, and the wider community if requested. There is no membership fee or subscription charge. The Centre provides a range of leisure activities and events, classes and sports facilities.
The facilities available indoors are: a large Main Hall with a stage and a sprung floor suitable for parties, celebrations, music events and dancing as well as for sports use, being marked out with a badminton court; and a large carpeted Studio also suitable for parties and classes, with direct access to an outside patio area. Both rooms are directly served by a bar and additionally the Main Hall has a hatch access to the Kitchen. The Main Hall can accommodate up to 200 people and the Studio up to 80 people, depending on the type of event.There are also team showers and changing rooms, and of course toilets including a disabled toilet, plus baby changing facility.
Outside there is a Multi-Use Games Area with an astroturf pitch for five-a-side football plus a hard court equipped for tennis or netball. Next to that is a well tended crown green bowls pitch. There is also an adjacent full-size football pitch with goals and nets, plus a skateboard park and a childrens’ playground.
