OPAL is a small charity, run by local people for local people. Established in 2011, its aim has always been the prevention of loneliness and social isolation for older people and their carers in rural West Cheshire. It achieves this through a range of co-produced services: Activity Day Clubs; support services for carers of older people; assistance with technology and safe use of the internet; Befriending services; and social groups designed to help isolated people re-connect with their community. It does all this under the guidance of a trustee board supported by a small team of staff and amazing volunteers.
